Dr Lauer
David W. Lauer, D.C.
When the emergency room nurse told me to see a chiropractor, I thought she was nuts! I told her I had "real" pain and needed a "real" doctor. Well, I guess we know the rest of that story.
Chiropractic exceeded my expectations and turned my life around. In the process of getting healthy, I learned so much more about my body than any of the "real doctors" had ever explained. I decided I wanted a career of showing people how the human body is a self-healing, self-regulating organism. Knowing that I had some control over my health and future was a new beginning.
I finished my undergraduate work at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was accepted into Logan College of Chiropractic of suburban St. Louis in the spring of 1981. The word, "doctor," literally means "teacher," and I feel a large part of my responsibility is to open patients up to what is possible. When they accept that the actions and decisions they make either build or sabotage health, they can increase the likelihood of enjoying pain-free, healthy living. To see a patient really "get it" is a thrill. Patients who ask questions and take responsibility also get consistently better results. Seeing a person who has been told to "live with it" start taking control and living with less pain and more function is deeply satisfying. To ensure patients throughout Nebraska have a successful experience with chiropractic, I serve on the board of directors for SecureCare, a division of the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians' Association (NCPA).
I married my wife, Kelly, a month before beginning chiropractic college. Now, we have four boys, Josh, Jared, Jamie and Jackson. Jackson, our youngest, has juvenile diabetes and, when Kelly found out there was no support group for these kids in Lincoln, she enrolled us all in a vision for our community's children with diabetes, and I am currently on the board of directors for the Lincoln chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). For our family to come together and provide a much-needed service for our community is an enriching experience.
In my spare time, I play golf, and I love to cook. If I wasn't a chiropractor, I might be a chef and have a restaurant of my own. I find that home is certainly where the heart is, and home is where we find the best within ourselves. I love watching movies or just hanging out with all my family around.
I was told at age 19 that I had a degenerative disc. I still have it, but I feel that a healthy lifestyle, regular chiropractic care and exercise have allowed me to lead a very active life without many limitations at all. Along with our medical and dental visits, my family gets regular chiropractic care and leads active and healthy lives as well.
Thank you for your interest in our website. I hope to meet you and your family and learn how we might help you reach your health objectives whether than means getting out of pain, or discovering how chiropractic can add life to your years. Contact us by phone, or feel free to

Dr Ideus
Tyler. M. Ideus, D.C.
My experience as a patient and intern at Havelock Chiropractic Center solidified my decision to attend Chiropractic school, though I had considered athletic training and physical therapy. I chose Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo., as it is one of the best chiropractic colleges in the country.
"Each profession or group presumably has something to offer, and surely they all can't be correct or wrong. Somehow we need to extract what is common and beneficial from the various groups." — David Butler
While at Logan, my goal became to bring the best research and techniques from manual therapy and rehab together under one roof, hence the quote above
.
This goal has led me across the U.S. to learn from the top chiropractors, medical doctors, physical therapists and researchers in their respective fields. I've taken the best of each, bringing a unqiue combination of skills to the state of Nebraska and to HCC patients. At the end of my education, I spent three months in the office of international chiropractic and rehab lecturer
Brett Winchester, D.C.
In January 2012, I attended a course with famous orthopaedic surgeon
James Andrews, M.D.
, who operates on professional athletes such as Adrian Peterson. I also recently returned from a trip to Prague, Czech Republic, where I spent a week in the rehabilitation clinic of the University hospital to learn from
Pavel Kolar, P.T., Paed., Ph.D
.
, director of the department. Dr. Kolar serves as the head physician for several teams including the Czech Olympic teams and national hockey teams.
During my time at HCC, I have enjoyed treating patients from children and gereatrics to high school, recreational, Division I and professional athletes.
In my spare time, I enjoy basketball, golf, sports, farming with my dad and spending time with my wife and family. We're looking forward to welcoming our first child, a boy, in May!

Mandy
I've been with Havelock Chiropractic Center since February of 2007, but I took all of 2008 off to go back to school to get my massage therapy license. I graduated in January 2009 and passed my state and national licensing exam in May. I currently do massage full time and, when I'm not busy with that, I assist Dr. Lauer and Dr. Ideus with patients.
Before I was an employee at HCC, I was a patient. I suffered from headaches almost every day. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Lauer and had nothing but positive things to say about him as a doctor and his staff. As soon as I walked in to the office, I knew it was a great environment. Soon after my treatment started a position for a chiropractic assistant came open, and I applied immediately. I was ecstatic to start a new career with Dr. Lauer and the team.
If you have any questions regarding the treatments we offer at HCC, please do not hesitate to call. I would be more than happy to answer your questions.
